My Non-Traditional Flower Girls

Don Bosco doesn’t allow showering of petals inside the church, so I looked for an option that would make my “little girls” appreciate the wedding ceremony. I wanted to prevent little girls from getting tantrums during the mass, so hubby to be and I decided to buy them teddy bears; instead of the normal flower basket with the not so “likeable” gift wrapper ribbons on the side. Hehe.

To make it more customized, I’m planning to put the paper flowers I have DIY’ed on the right ear of the teddy bear. I’m just hoping that it doesn’t get crumpled.

Here was my inspiration when I thought of this idea. 

Shopping for wedding accessories

Yesterday, H2b and I went to SM Mall of Asia to watch Praybeyt Benjamin ;) However, since it’s been awhile since the last time we strolled the mall with more than enough money on our pockets, we actually ended up buying some of the wedding paraphernalia’s we are going to use on the wedding ceremony :D

We already bought 5 stuffed toys for the flower girls (stuffed toys in lieu of flowers), arrhae, and the bible.

Bible – St Paul’s – we bought it for only 300.00. I’m going to ornate the front cover with beads instead of buying a pre-decorated bible. Pre decorated bible costs 1000 and up these days.

Arrhae – Wedding Library – I am not familiar with the price of arrhaes, but we only bought our arrhae for only 179.00.

Stuffed toys – Toy Kingdom – We bought 5 stuffed toys for our flower girls. Instead of them carrying a basket filled with flowers, we opted to have them carry white teddy bears instead. To prevent these cute bears from getting dusty, we had them individually wrapped. Thank you Toy Kingdom for offering free gift wrapping services! ;) Each bear costs 100.00 each.

We also canvassed some barongs that Mark would wear on our big day, and to my surprise, the barong that Mark wants to wear is a whooping 7,000 pesos! Hopefully they get to offer this on their 50% off rack so we could buy this Piña Barong. ;)  

Our Teddy Love for Little Girls ♥

Teddy bears don't need hearts as they are already stuffed with love

Teddy bears have been by a part of my weaknesses ever since I was a little girl. Up to this moment, every time I see these lovely creations, (Thanks to Theodore Roosevelt) it brings back my child hood memories. =)

I suppose this would also be a great idea to slip in my love for teddy bears on our wedding day. So instead of having my cute flower girls bring a basket filled with flowers while walking the aisle, they are going to bring teddy bears.

My friend, Leah who promised to help me scout for teddy bears, said that we can buy these at Market! Market! for only 100/each. Much affordable as compared to the teddies I’ve seen in Toy Kingdom. If budget permits (which I think is way impossible as of this moment) I’d have their clothes customized. Just like the picture below: 

I believe there's a store in Festival Supermall, Alabang that makes custom dress/clothes for teddy bears.
